The Sterling Opera House in Derby is one of the most haunted places. Built in 1889, the building is said to have an array of ghosts who wander all around to kill the people. It is said that a young boy named Andy was killed here. The spirit of this boy still wanders in the area.

9. Rutland Prison Camp
The Rutland Prison Camp was built in 1903 but closed in 1934 with only a few structures still standing. It is said to be a haunted place. One ghost is said to be the wife of a former warden that still wanders in this area.

7. SK Pierce Haunted Victorian Mansion
Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, and My Ghost Stories have all featured this 1875 mansion located in Gardner, Massachusetts. It is one of the most terrifying places in the world. This was once the crown jewel for millionaire SK Pierce. It is now said that here various ghosts wander, and paranormal activities have been noticed in this area.
6. The Lizzie Borden House
On August 4, 1892, this house in Fall River, Massachusetts was the site of two brutal murders of Abby and Andrew Borden that were able to captivate the attention of people. The daughter of Andrew named Lizzie was murdered here. Now her spirit is said to remain wandering in this house. The woman is reported to be standing on the edge of the beds of guestrooms.

The Stonehenge of America is yet another haunted place. This roadside oddity in Salem, New Hampshire is spread in an approximate area of 30 acres, and has stone structures and rock formations that are said to be about four centuries old. This is considered to be the home to shape shifting ghosts.

The Paine House of New England is a highly fearful place. Built around 1740’s by Francis Brayton, this house has now become a museum, but is said to have ghosts residing in it. One of the most active spirits is that of a young girl.

The Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier started as a seminary in 1831 before it could become a college by 1941. This is one of the most haunted places. It is considered to have the ghost of a girl who was rapped and murdered here by a criminal.

Located in Cumberland, Rhode Island, this cemetery is another ghostly area. It is said to be the home to a religious meeting house, and today has many ghosts and shadows. Voices of crying have often been heard.
